The concept of our Tarot deck is directly related to the concept of Divine and Cosmic Time. Each image tells a short but instructive story about how humans interact with this transcendent substance. Time itself is continuous. It flows from past to present, from present to future. We have also endeavoured to link all the cards in the deck by the concept of Time. This relationship should serve as an important reminder of the transience of life and the need to harmonize all actions and decisions with the rhythms of existence. According to him, the results of most events are not the outcome of human plans or desires, but occur in accordance with a universal, cosmic order or some higher, spiritual design.
Understanding this gives us more harmony, help and patience in overcoming life's many challenges. Through this we live important lessons for ourselves, believing that everything in the world happens at the right time and in the right way. When objective conditions are created that allow events to unfold naturally and to our maximum benefit, we obtain the best results for ourselves. This is what we wanted to talk about in our Tarot of Time deck.
The Time Tarot deck retains the traditional names and suits of the Minor Arcana, but they are enriched with the symbolism of time.
The active, masculine suits are connected to the elements of clock mechanics: the mobile Wands represent pendulums, swinging as long as the clock has energy, while the sharp Swords symbolize the relentless hands counting down each fleeting moment. The passive, feminine suits reflect the forms of antique timepieces: Cups are marked with an hourglass symbol, as sand, like water, flows fluidly, much like time itself. Pentacles, representing stability and reliability, are adorned with an image of an astrolabe—an ancient instrument used to observe the stars and predict celestial movements, perfectly aligning with their meaning.
The Major Arcana and Court Cards, based on the classic Waite-Smith Tarot, are also embellished with symbols of time and clocks, broadening the traditional interpretations of the cards.
The Time Tarot is a hand-drawn original project that was created over several years. And the visual style of this deck was inspired by 16th-17th century Dutch painting.
