Inspired by music, history, magic, motherhood, and stuffed to the brim with punk attitude, Tarot of the Crystal World is a fully illustrated interpretation of a 78 card tarot by artist Brooke Penrose. The cards are fierce, challenging, inclusive and emotional. Representation and inclusion are front and centre, and there is a strong focus on narrative and symbol.
I have kept the necessary limitations of suits, the needed metaphors of representation. But I have also come up with my own language of simile and adumbration. The people inhabiting the Crystal World are us, in flux with our past, dancing with our dreams.
They show us to us, the world reborn inside a fun-house mirror. Country and western layabouts, occult wizards, acrobatic dandies, fearsome warriors and the detritus of modernity; lost in time, recast as players on a stage directed by fate. Let these folk be your guide.
These cards were hand drawn on paper and digitally coloured in a limited pallete. The Tarot of The Crystal World deck represents many hours of work and many years of exploration.

Gilt edged Tarot Cards
Daily Oracle Cards - This is the big one! If the kickstarter can get to this goal, all card orders will also include a 20 card Daily Crystal World Oracle set. These cards will be printed on the same card stock as the Tarot (120x70mm, 400gsm, linen stock, with gold foil edges) and will include a hand made and signed zine style guide book.
Use these cards as daily inspiration, goal setting and reminders. They'll be a companion set to the Tarot, with a complimentary colour pallette.
