Writing under the nom-de-plume Scire, Gerald B. Gardner published this fictional work in 1946. Here it is reprinted in readable 10-point type with all the original English spelling, dialect, and idiosyncratic usage. This work shows witches in a positive light and makes many caustic comments on the activities of the medieval church and aristocracy. The author felt that his vows precluded him from publishing an actual non-fictional account of witches at work.
