Tarot of the Healing Earth. A deck created to illustrate the effects of climate change on our Mother Earth and how we can help her heal.
According to the world's greatest minds, the earth is deteriorating at an alarming rate, and it's up to us to save it. We hope this deck can contribute to the race to heal our planet.
For this collaborative deck we gathered 80 international artists (virtually, in our secret facebook group), and each of them created a card that was a meaningful subject for them on global warming and climate change. This is a deck that connects all corners of the globe. That unites us as one species that loves our Mother Earth.
We have many returning artists for this deck, including 78 Tarot Veterans Meredith Dillman, Jessica Douglas, Tanya Bond, Michael Calandra, Leilani Joy, and Selina Fenech to name a few. A full list of our wonderful artists can be found at the end of this page.
This deck follows the traditional RWS method, but we have renamed the suits to connect more to the ecological theme. Pentacles are now Earth, Swords are Air, Wands are Energy and Cups is Water.
Each artist chose an effect on our climate to illustrate. Each card beautifully tells the story of how to heal our Gaia.
The court cards are changed as well to connect more deeply to this theme. The Page is now The Idealist, the Knight is now the Activist, the Queen is now the Nurturer and the King is the Protector.
Some Major Arcana names were also changed to reflect the theme of the cards and connect the readers more intimately to them.
The Fool is The Explorer, and the Magician is the Scientist.
Like most of our decks, the cards and book come in a gorgeous clamshell box with gold foil accents. The cards will once again be gilded due to popular demand. The size of our cards are 3.25 by 5.5, which is larger than your typical tarot size so it can show off the beautiful art more vividly.
78 Tarot Ecological comes with a 180 page full color guidebook that not only has the card meaning by the author, Trish Sullivan, but also an artist interpretation of each card as well as the card image, so that you can delve further into their mind as you read and get to know the cards.
The card backs were hand illustrated in an elegant design that celebrates Mother Earth and the elements of the deck. They will have slight gold foil accents to bring a little sparkle to represent the magic on this beautiful planet.
